"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you..." Matthew 6:33

Have you ever really desired something good? I think all of us have. There's lots of different things that are really good and pleasing to God that we could desire: the desire to end poverty, the desire to save someone from hurt, the desire to raise money to give to a ministry, etc... All these things are awesome things to do, things that please God and things we should rightly desire to do. But the trouble begins when we want them too much. Even good things can be wanted and desired too much. "Too much of a good thing is a bad thing." When this occurs, our focus is taken away from God, and placed on that desire alone - not the very God we claim to be doing it for. Our whole purpose on earth is to serve Christ, to do HIS will, and to seek Him daily. When we do this, He will give us the desire to do these good things, in order to please Him. But we can't let that become our focus: our focus should still be on our Lord, and worshiping and praising HIM through our actions. It's easy to get distracted by the very desire He gives us, and to forget Who gave it to us. Walk the path He's shown us, and do everything in our lives with one express purpose: to praise and glorify Him!

  1. Amen! It makes me think of the verse in Corinthians: "Whether then you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." :)

To the KING be all the glory!
